Old media monitoring new media during State of the Union Address

A fairly easy one for me to blog about.

Given the fact that President Obama’s approval ratings have taken a nosedive recently, people had a lot to say in reaction to his first State of the Union address. CNN’s twitterfeed posted a story in which tweets and facebook posts were monitored and the majority echoed pretty much the same sentiment of dissatisfaction.

It makes me wonder if there ever will be a day when people will be able to use social media platforms to vote elected offiicials in and out of office.
